Illinois League of Conservation Voters Endorses
Bonnie Thomson Carter for Lake County Board

The Illinois League of Conservation Voters (ILCV) has announced its endorsement of Bonnie Thomson Carter, a candidate for Lake County Board. Thomson Carter’s plan for the city includes a strong focus on environmental responsibility, specifically addressing city government as a consumer of energy.

“Bonnie Thomson Carter is a fantastic example of an experienced leader who understands the essential role environmental conservation plays in sustaining the social and economic health of our cities,” said Amanda Espitia, Executive Director of the ILCV.

“I will be proud to have Bonnie Thomson Carter as my representative on the Lake County Board. She truly understands how the environment affects the health and welfare of children as well as expands our local economy,” said John Gutknecht, a resident of the 5th district for Lake County Board.

Thomson Carter’s commitment to the environmental health of Lake County is made clear in her efforts to maintain and grow the natural habitats of her district. In her time as a Lake County Board Representative she has acquired 8,200 acres of land to be secured as Forest Preserve Land, as well as making advances in water quality and resisting the creation of multiple power plants.

Dedication to addressing environmental issues is nothing new for Bonnie Thomson Carter, who has served on the Lake County Board as well as being the President of the Lake County Forest Preserve. Her work on the Board has significantly added to the natural beauty of Lake County and will continue giving to generations to come.
