As your Lake County Board Representative, President of the Lake County Forest Preserves and a proven community leader, I have:

  • Secured $33,200,000 of improvements in District #5 alone and $3M of federal funding for the Lake County Passage transportation program
  • Secured transportation funding and supported road projects throughout Lake County, such as:
    • widening of Rollins, Washington & Butterfield Roads
    • intersection improvements at Gilmer/Fairfield, Route 134/Wilson Rd, Burnett/Darrell
    • reconstruction of Bonner & Wilson Roads
  • Acquired 8200 acres of Forest Preserve land from willing sellers to secure open space for future generations with over 3600 acres serving District #5 residents that otherwise would have been thousands of more homes.
  • Added new preserves such as Singing Hills, Marl Flat, Tanager Kames, Black Crown, Nippersink
  • Expanded Grant Woods, Lakewood & Fox River
  • Added 30 miles of trails connecting Lakewood, Singing Hills & Marl Flat
  • Secured the trail connection to the Grand Illinois Trail
  • Balanced the county budget while lowering the tax rate every year since being elected
  • Secured AAA bond rating
  • Secured over $12,577,000 in funding for neighborhood projects such as:
    • safe drinking water
    • affordable senior housing
    • protection of aquifers
    • fire suppression
    • flood reduction
    • water quality improvements and
    • watershed planning
  • Continued my efforts for a long term sustainable water supply for future generations
  • Successfully defeated 3 power plants that would have affected the water supply and air quality
  • Progressively worked to expand the use of developer paid school impacts fees, lowering tax burden on residents
  • Worked to bring the 4-year University Center to Lake County
  • Helped individual and groups navigate the sometimes challenging government process
